We run, we walk. We are a community of women who support each other and train together to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Whether a beginner or a seasoned veteran, join our womenâ€™s walking/running group to train for your spring or fallÂ 5k, half marathon or full marathon. Or join us to get fit and feel great!Â This will be a 12 to 16 week training class that will help you get to the start line of that spring or fall race. Classes for 5k, fitness and half marathon training begin on January 11, 2016 if you want to train for the Ann Arbor half marathon. Contact me if you want to train for a spring full marathon.. We will also be training for is the Indianapolis Mini marathon this Spring with training beginning on February 15, 2016. Â The fall race we are training for is the Indianapolis Monumental marathon.Â If you are training for a different event please contact me at [email protected] and I will create a customized plan for your race. We will also be training for a trail half and quarter marathon beginning spring of 2016. The trail half and quarter marathon is the Indiana women’s trail run on Sunday June 19, 2016.
Training downtown is on Monday evenings 6pm at Marsh Marketplace, 227 W. Michigan St. Indianapolis, IN 46204.Â You may park for free for up to 2 hours in the parking garage located under Marsh. Questions?Â See our FAQ page.
We may soon have a coed group that will meet downtown also.
Trail half marathon and quarter marathon training will meet Sunday afternoon at 2 PM at Eagle Creek Park at the Peace Learning Center beginning Spring of 2016.
Topics will be customized to the needs of the class but will likely include:
- Cold weather/warm weather walking/running.
- When bad things happen, from dogs to diarrhea, and what to do.
- How to become mentally tough.
- Strong core, stronger walker or runner.
- The 7 heavenly stretches that help keep you injury free.
- Nutrition for active women.
- How to prepare for a race.
